Hey there disc golfers,
We are getting close to our weekend for the Mesmerize at Kelley Park presented by DGA. Freddy Rodriguez, Aaron Scheid and myself are very excited for our event and want to get out some general information for you all before it begins….
First of all we want to remind you all that Kelley Park requires a $6 parking fee, and there are other events happening throughout the park on Saturday the 14th, so if you can carpool with others, it spreads the parking fee between you and brings less cars (although there are plenty of spaces for us all). Also I wanted to remind you all that this is a sanctioned PDGA B Tier Event, and of course that means that there can be no alcohol consumption during your round or smoking at all during the round. Before the event and during the lunch breaks, however, I wanted you all to know San Jose’s expectations. There is to be no drinking of alcohol in the parking lot, the city prefers such activity to take place at the picnic tables.
We cannot enjoy such events without help from many people, several individuals added money in the form of hole sponsorships so please be sure to thank them. Ben Ruckman has donated hours (too many to know for sure) to the upkeep of our orchard course, and has helped others to work efficiently by providing mowers and tools. Thanks to all who help keep our course playable! My team of TD’s; Freddy and Aaron have been invaluable in helping to orchestrate the planning and behind the scenes details for this event, thanks to you both for everything! Big thanks to Jef Wind! I cannot remember a time when his artwork was not the prize we all played for. Your creative energy and unique spin in the form of our trophies and logo deliver something more to the event, thanks for always giving to us here in Silicon Valley. Thanks to DGA for being our main sponsor, and for your continued support of our club, we all appreciate not only the products you make that are essential to the game, but your willingness to help all clubs get off the ground! Thanks to Foxtower DNA for not only helping us with payout, but for adding us to the Central Coast Series and bringing us into a great network of TD’s, we are proud to now be a part of the family!
